Mission Statement

The mission of Bridge to Freedom Ministries is based upon two commands of Jesus.

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

- Matthew 28:19-20

34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

- Matthew 25:34-40

Our mission is to be the "sheep" of God, by reaching those who are in prison, as well as their families. We seek to "visit" those in prison, by writing to them, providing teachings and studies, and assisting in transition from prison to society.

The statistics demonstrate that a person is much more likely to succeed once they are released from prison if one of three things occur while they are in prison.

  1. Their educational level improves.
  2. Their support system improves.
  3. They undergo a stronger commitment to their religion.

Bridge to Freedom Ministries seeks to assist in two of these three changes.

In response to these commands our commitment is to do the following:

  1. To teach the Gospel message to those who are unbelievers.
  2. To further the growth of Believers so that they mature in their understanding and love for Jesus.
  3. To assist those who are in prison by sharing teachings, studies, and letters.
  4. To assist those who are out of prison or are being released from prison to return to society and stay focused on their faith in Jesus.
  5. To assist the families of prisoners by providing information on resources to assist them, as well as Bible teachings and studies.
  6. To work with church groups and organizations to assist prisoners upon their release.
  7. To advocate for prisoners for fairness in the law and community.
